Is VideoBuffet compatible with macOS Mojave (10.14)?
Yep, VideoBuffet is fully compatible with 10.10 and up, including Mojave (and it even supports Dark Mode)..
What kinds of movies can VideoBuffet play?
VideoBuffet can open and play any movies files that can be opened in QuickTime Player (with one exception: DRM-protected m4v movies, such as movies rented or bought from iTunes, cannot by played by VideoBuffet).
Why can't VideoBuffet play m4v files?
VideoBuffet can't play m4v files which are protected via Digital Rights Management (DRM), such as those purchased or rented from iTunes. Only iTunes and QuickTime Player can play those movies. This is a limitation imposed by Apple. Unprotected m4v files will work just fine in VideoBuffet, however.
Why do some movies always play from the beginning when I have "Start movies at a random spot" selected?
Some kinds of movie files (most notably, Windows Media WMV and ASF files) cannot be loaded quickly enough to enable random seek on first open. This is a limitation of the Windows Media codecs.
Performance concerns:
Playing multiple QuickTime movies simultaneously is very CPU intensive. If you're experiencing performance issues, you can try a few things to improve it:
Quit other open apps. This will allow VideoBuffet to utilize more of your RAM and CPU power.
Reduce the of number movies shown. You can do this via VideoBuffet's toolbar, or from VideoBuffet's View menu.
Resize VideoBuffet's main window to be smaller.
System Requirements:
• VideoBuffet requires a 64-bit Intel Mac (see here to learn how to determine if your Mac has a 64-bit Intel CPU - short answer: if your Mac was built in 2007 or later, you have a 64-bit Intel CPU).
• VideoBuffet requires macOS 10.10 or later (and is fully compatible with macOS Mojave).
